Jin Chan Update Guide for Smarter Team Play

Following the latest Honor of Kings update, experts at 12BET Malaysia conducted an in-depth review of Jin Chan’s redesigned abilities, recommended equipment and Arcana setups, and practical combat strategies. His passive now provides two separate effects. At regular intervals, he gains a buff that blocks one powerful crowd-control effect, while also receiving several seals that absorb incoming damage. This control-immunity effect is particularly valuable against heroes such as Guiguzi, Sun Ce, Daji, and Angela, who often begin their attacks with disabling abilities.

Against these opponents, Jin Chan can position himself more freely. Most mid-lane mages only possess one reliable hard-control skill, so he has little reason to fear being caught first. He can even initiate a trade and retreat safely afterward. His damage-absorption mechanic resembles Kai’s ultimate, although Kai continues reducing damage throughout the skill’s duration, while Jin Chan consumes individual seals. This makes Jin Chan slightly less durable, but the passive still provides meaningful protection without requiring defensive equipment and greatly reduces the risk of failed engagements or counterattacks.

Several active skills have also been adjusted. Skill 1 now creates a wider movement-restriction area, receives a shorter cooldown in the late game, and deals increased damage. Skill 2 has lower base damage, but its AP scaling has been improved and its early cooldown reduced, encouraging players to choose high-AP equipment. The ultimate has also changed from a two-stage ability into a single-stage cast. Its previous general ally-enhancement function has been removed, so players who continue using it according to old habits may easily mistime the skill.

The redesigned ultimate introduces two new effects. It knocks back enemies that it hits and grants nearby allies the same hard-control immunity provided by Jin Chan’s passive. When a knocked-back enemy collides with terrain or the boundary created by Skill 1, a rebound effect triggers and deals additional damage. Practical testing shows that this bonus damage is crucial when attempting to eliminate an opponent instantly. The ability can function similarly to Zhang Fei’s large-area ultimate, with wall positioning and knockback angles becoming the key to maximizing its impact.

According to combat analysis from 12BET Malaysia, the ally-protection effect is especially effective against abilities with obvious start-up animations, including Guiguzi’s initiation, Sun Ce’s long-distance ship charge, Lian Po’s engage, and Wang Zhaojun’s second skill. Jin Chan players must react quickly and apply the buff to teammates at precisely the right moment. In other words, instinct may sound the alarm, but a cool head must make the final decision.

The upgraded Jin Chan is best played with a damage-focused build. He can be treated as a more versatile version of Daji, delivering a powerful burst combo capable of removing fragile targets. Unlike Daji, however, Jin Chan can use the knockback from his ultimate to create distance even when an enemy survives the initial burst, reducing the risk of immediate retaliation.

Skill 1 only damages a single target, but Skill 2 and the ultimate both deal area damage, so Jin Chan remains effective even when several enemies group together. A target caught by Skill 1 can also be positioned more reliably for the ultimate’s rebound damage. As the saying goes, less is more. Players do not need an overly complicated plan; a direct and practical sequence of abilities is often the most effective approach.

Thanks to his passive, Jin Chan is relatively safe against enemy initiation and remains strong when turning the tables with a counterattack. He can enter aggressively, complete his combo, and withdraw before opponents recover. Daji, for example, may be punished immediately if Wang Zhaojun freezes her during an attempted burst. Jin Chan does not face the same level of danger because his passive can block that crucial control effect. Although his recommended build emphasizes burst damage, he still retains excellent supportive value and can protect his backline effectively.

During team fights, players reviewing strategies through 12BET Malaysia should position Jin Chan close to the team’s marksman. When several enemies approach, his ultimate can push them away while also granting the marksman control immunity, making this an ideal defensive position. With Flash available and his passive active, Jin Chan can confidently dive forward and attempt an instant elimination. Without Flash or the passive, he should remain near the marksman and act as a bodyguard instead. The key to victory is not copying another player’s style, but changing roles intelligently as the situation develops.
